I was born in Los Angeles where I spent most of my childhood.  At the age of 16, difficult family circumstances forced my twin brother and me to start living on our own.  I then moved to Baltimore, where I earned a biomedical engineering degree from Johns Hopkins. Additionally, I was awarded a patent for the invention of a surgical medical device that assists orthopedic screw removal.

I spent the majority of my adult life in Brooklyn, New York.  As a consultant with Accenture, I helped businesses operate more efficiently by improving processes and implementing technology solutions.  I have spent the majority of my career in the life sciences sector - delivering clinical trial management systems, electronic laboratory notebooks, and compound management systems for large pharma and biotech. Outside of life sciences, my most interesting project was helping the US Postal Service better track trailers of mail.  I traveled to major distribution centers in 22 different states to deploy a transportation system and train thousands of warehouse operators on new procedures and software.

Separately, I founded a design firm to help local businesses with branding. I learned Photoshop and coding to create marketing materials and websites for clients.  Evenings and weekends were spent on cold calls, check-ins with customers, and putting out fires.  I helped a new business owner open a gym and created an online booking and scheduling platform for his trainers.  We completed over 70 branding projects for 35 clients in Washington, DC, Los Angeles, and New York.  It was incredibly rewarding to start my own firm, but I realized I needed more training to grow the business.

I decided to pursue an MBA at Yale.  Post-graduation, I worked in finance with Barclays, during which I helped CEOs raise capital, prepare for IPOs, and sell their companies.  This experience brought me back on the path of becoming a CEO myself.  To prepare for operating a business, I worked with the owner of an elevator maintenance company in New Orleans.  I was in charge of implementing a system to improve mechanic dispatching, time tracking, and job costing. At the same time, I got to see first hand the day-to-day role of the CEO and the unique culture of his business. This enabled me to earn the support of several investors who are supporting me to acquire and run a business of my own.

Outside of work, my wife, Katherine, and I enjoy exploring nature on land and sea. We are both avid hikers and scuba divers. We are also excited about relocating to a new community and beginning a new chapter in our lives.
